Christopher Stein
Christopher Stein, 91, formerly of Long Neck, DE and Douglassvile, PA, widower of Eleanore Mae (Porter) Stein, died Friday at Manatawny Manor Nursing Home, East Coventry Twp. Born in Lower Pottsgrove Township, PA, he was a son of the late Henry Stein and the late Katherine (Kirsh)Stein. He was a maintenance worker for the former Pottstown Metal Welding Company for thirty years retiring in 1980. Mr. Stein served in the Army during World War II, was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stowe, and a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary. He is survived by two sons Robert Christopher husband of Beverly Stein, Millsboro, DE, Perry Scott husband of Pam Stein, Lewes, DE; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great great gandchild. He was predeceased by a brother Henry Stein, Jr., and a sister Katherine Bell. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory 359 King Street, Pottstown. Officiating will be Sister Jane Roper. Burial will be private in Oak Grove Cemetery, Parkerford. There will be a viewing Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Contributions may be in his memory to Caring Hospice 400 Commerce Drive, Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034 or St. Peter's Lutheran Church 564 Glasgow Street Pottstown, PA 19464.
