  Joseph J. Cain

Joseph J. Cain, 84, of Franklin Court, Limerick, husband of Mary A. (Moszinski) Cain, died Monday at Parkhouse Providence Point, Royersford.

Born in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late Leonard Cain and the late Catherine (McEvoy) Cain.

He was a 1942 graduate of St. Peter's High School, Reading.

Mr. Cain was the treasurer and register of wills for Montgomery County for twenty five years retiring in 1984, and was the owner of the former Jefferson Cafe, Pottstown for five years.

He served in the Army during World War II serving with the 104th Infantry Regimen 26th Division, a recipient of a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Sharp Shooter Badge, and Carbine Bar.

Mr. Cain was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, a member of the Men of Malvern, chairman of Replublican Committee, Pottstown for twelve years, and served on Pottstown Borough Council.

Surviving besides his wife of sixty four years is three sons Dennis J. Cain, Fort Mill, SC, William Cain, Linwood, NJ, Daniel J. Cain, Limerick; a brother Leonard F. Cain, Washington D.C.; a sister Mercedes Cain, Spring City; seven grandchildren and three great granddaughters. He predeceased by two sons Dr. James P. Cain, Timothy J. Cain; and a brother Timothy P. Cain.

A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. on Friday from St. Aloysius Catholic Church Hanover & Beech Streets, Pottstown. Burial will be private. There will be no viewing.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Building Fund of St. Aloysius Catholic Chuch 214 N. Hanover Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
