Nicholas Luechak
Nicholas Leuchak, 89, formerly of Gilbertsville, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Reading Hospital. Since 2005 he had resided at Country Meadows Senior Living Community in Wyomissing. He was born in Chester, PA on August 14, 1920, son of the late Andrew and Tessie Leuchak. He graduated from Boyertown High School. Prior to his retirement, Nick worked for many years as an inspection supervisor for PennDot. He was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Pottstown. Nick was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen, who died in July of this year; sister Helen; infant granddaughter Rebecca Leuchak; and grandson Jonathan Leuchak. He is survived by son Nicholas Leuchak and wife Sharon of Mohnton; daughter Sandra Lutz and husband Walter of Berwick; granddaughters, Jenna Leuchak, San Francisco; Laura Lutz King and husband Michael of LaCanada, California; and Andrea Lutz, of Warren, Vermont. He has two great-granddaughters, Eliza and Penelope King. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public services. His care has been entrusted to the Schumacher Benner Funeral Home in Pottstown. |
