Carolyn K. (Semet) Saylor
Carolyn K. (Semet) Saylor, 96, of Pottstown, widow of John H. Saylor with whom she was married forty five years to until his passing in Jan. 1988, died Saturday in Manatawny Manor Nursing Home, East Coventry Twp.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA, on July 2, 1913 to the late William Semet, Sr. and the late Caroline (Bauer) Semet.
She graduated from North Coventry High School in 1931. Upon graduation she worked as a school secretary at Norco for ten years. In the forties she worked in the office at the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, then at IVB Bank at High & Hanover Streets and also the North End office, she retired in 1971 and she and her husband enjoyed winters in Florida.
Mrs. Saylor was a member of Eastern Star #334, Pottstown where she was worthy matron from 1950-1951, was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School in the Primary Department for many years, and was active in the Luther League serving as its treasurer.
Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, golf, needle point, travel, reading, and loved to play bridge, playing in several bridge clubs.
She is survived by a sister Ann Marie (Semet) wife of Dale W. Moyer, Pottstown. She was predeceased by two brothers William Semet, Jr., Harry J. Semet.
Funeral Services will be 11:15 A.M. on Tuesday from Emmanuel Lutheran Church Dr. Luther A. Krouse Chapel Hanover & Walnut Streets, Pottstown Officiating will be Reverend Lynette Chapman. Eastern Star services will be 11:00 A.M. at the church. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. There will be a viewing Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Emmanuel Lutheran Church "Shares of Faith" 150 N. Hanover Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
