Billy R. Gurley
Billy R. Gurley, 64, of Queen Street, Douglassville, widower of Maggie D. (Schwenk) Gurley, died Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Jefferson Co., Alabama, he was a son of the late Luid Gurley and the late Eula Fay (Sullivan) Reese. Mr. Gurley was a truck driver for Reed Fuel Oil, Stowe for many years retiring in 2002. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his step mother Ermadean Gurley, his children Billy R. Gurley married to Donna Musser, Mary Gurley, Michael Gurley, John Gurley, Kenny Gurley, Florence Gurley married to Sid Slody, Barry married to Alisha Gurley, Evelyn Marie Ledford, Herb married to Cindy Ledford, David Ledford, Delores Ledford, and Debra Ledford; brothers and sisters Barbara Jean Bortz, Michael Hill, James Hill, Frank Hill, Wanda Reese, Tom and Cookie Hughes, and Carla Gurley; thirty six grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was predeceased by children Clarence Doss, Ralph Ledford wife of Karen Ledford; brothers and sisters Robin Gurley, Jay Gurley, Lued Ray Gurley. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory 359 King Street, Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Barry Moyer. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories. There will be a viewing Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center 1600 East High Street, Pottstown.
