Evelyn (Herder) Brinkley
Evelyn (Herder) Brinkley, 90, of Upper Providence Twp., and formerly of Bright Hope Community, Pottstown and widow of Ralph Brinkley, died Sunday at Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Royersford.
Born in Loudoun County, VA, she was a daughter of the late George and Hester, (Herder) Gregsby. Evelyn was educated in the Abington School District in Abington, PA. She worked various jobs in the Philadelphia and Pottstown area. Evelyn was a former member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Pottstown and in her later years she had attended meetings of the Jehovas' Wittnesses. Evelyn was a strong willed, independent and hardworking woman who made a lot sacrefices for her family.
Evelyn is survived by five daughters, Katherine wife of Robert Smith, Pottstown; Erma wife of Marvin Williams, Pottstown; Josephine wife of James Smith, Byron, GA; Ann Brinkley, Douglassville; Gayle Brinkley, Pottstown; two sons, Clarence Brinkley, Pottstown; David Brinkley, GA; twenty one grandchildren; forty one great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eveline Brinkley and one sister Frances Brown.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am on Friday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King Street, Pottstown. Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
