Betty E. (Levengood) Sherman
Betty E. (Levengood) Sherman, 84, of Stowe, PA, widow of Robert W. Sherman Sr., died Wednesday at Sanatoga Center, Lower Pottsgrove Twp. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Sally (Heydt) Levengood. Betty along with her sister Lila were the owners and florists of Levengood's Flower Shop formerly of Glasgow St., Pottstown which closed in 1991. The two operated the flower shop and their brother Leroy operated the Greenhouse. She was a member of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, Pottstown and Schuylkill Chapter #338 Order of Eastern Star, Pottstown. Betty enjoyed watchin NASCAR the Phillie's, and she loved riding motorcycles. Surviving are two sons, Robert William Sherman Jr. and his wife Barbara, Exeter; William R. Sherman and his wife Elizabeth G., Barto; three grandchildren, Jeremy Sherman, Exeter; Stephanie Sherman, Barto; Jason A. Sherman, Pottstown. She was preceded in death by one brother Leroy Levengood and one sister Lila Mast. Eastern Star Services by Schuylkill Chapter #338 will be held 11:00 am on Monday June 7, 2010 from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown followed by the funeral service at 11:15. Officiating will be Reverend Peter Hutchinson. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstow. There will be a viewing from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
