William R. Anderson
William R. Anderson, 57, of North Coventry Twp., Pottstown, husband of Linda L. (Seregely) Anderson, died Monday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of Rosella I. (Spuhler) Bitler, Lower Pottsgrove Twp. and the late Vernon F. Anderson Sr. Mr. Anderson was a 1971 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School and was the Quarterback of the 1970 Owen J. Roberts Ches-Mont Champion Football Team. He had also played on the school baseball team. He was employed as an installer with Verizon Telephone Co., for 36 years retiring in 2008. William loved collecting Lionel Trains and building train layouts. He liked fishing and working with his hands. He loved watching all kinds of sports. Surviving in addition to his wife of 28 years and his mother is one brother, Vernon F. Anderson and his wife Vicki, Charlotte, NC; Harold P. Bitler Jr. and his wife Beverly, Hilton Head, SC; two sisters, Elaine Anderson, Phoenix, AZ; and Sharon Seckinger, Marmora, NJ and several nieces and nephews. His Dogs Dutchess, Casey and Domino. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Anderson and two sisters, Sandra Seyler and Barbara Lemma. A Celebration of Life service will be held 7:00 pm on Friday June 18, 2010 from Harmonyville Church of the Brethren, 2027 Harmonyville Road, Harmonyville, PA 19465. Officiating will be Reverend John C Kolle. Burial will be private. There will be no viewing. Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, C/O Joan Gehris, National Penn Bank, 1830 East High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464 or the Montgomery County SPCA, 1059 Sweifford Road, Perkiomenville, PA 18074.
