  Maxine D. (Rice) Marquette

Maxine D. (Rice) Marquette, 94, of East Coventry Twp., Pottstown, widow of James F. Marquette, died Tuesday at Manatawny Manor Nursing Center.

Born in North Coventry Twp., she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Carrie (Imler) Rice. Mrs. Marquette was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pottstown and was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Sang in the choir and was a member of the Womans Society. She was a Girl Scout Leader with the troop of First United Methodist Church, and was a volunteer for the Cluster Outreach Center of Pottstown.

Surviving are one daughter, Esther M. wife of Melvin Scheidt, N. Coventry Twp.; one son Daniel L. Marquette and his wife Ruth, New Port, VT; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna May Eppler and Margaret Deibler.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Friday June 25, 2010 from First United Methodist Church, 414 High Street, Pottstown. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Pottstown. There will be a viewing from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday at the church.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the memorial fund of First United Methodist Church, 414 High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
