Richard W. Kirk Sr.
Richard W. Kirk Sr., 79, of North Coventry Twp, Pottstown, husband of Louise M. (Long) Kirk, died Wednesday July 14, 2010 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He died peacefully with his loving family by his side. Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Clyde Kirk and Myrtle (Buckwalter) Myers. Mr. Kirk was employed as a plasterer, working for D.J. Kirlin and sons, and Howard Lynch retiring in 1995. He was an avid Bowler, belonging to several leagues, and winning many awards in local tournaments and out of state competitions. He also loved to paint oil paintings and he especially enjoyed painting landscapes. Mr. Kirk was a loyal and faithfull Phillies fan. Having a competitive spirit, he loved to play family games and enjoyed holidays and family get togethers. He especially enjoyed fishing with his buddy "Bim". Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Richard W. Kirk Jr. and his wife Brenda, East Coventry twp.; Bob Kirk and his wife Patty, Moorestown, NJ; two daughters, Patti A. wife of Dennis McClimon, East Coventy; Mindi K. wife of John "J.R." Martinez, Royersford; one brother Ronald Kirk and his wife June, Limerick; six grandchildren, Susan; Kelly; Kirk; Nathan; Sam and Sean; two great grandchildren Kaelyn and Delaney; sisters and brothers in-law, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Robert & Kenneth Kirk; and three step brothers, Russell; Robert; and Donald Myers. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday July 20, 2010 from Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 66 South Limerick Road, Royersford. Officiating will be Reverend Ralph Owens. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick. There will be a viewing from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center "Building Improvement" 1600 E. High St., Pottstown, PA 19464 in appreciation of the wonderful care he was given. Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA. |
