Howard E. Rumler
Howard E. Rumler, 92, of Lower Pottsgrove Twp., husband of June E. (Spielman) Rumler, died Saturday July 24, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Linfield, PA, he was a son of the late Fredrick and Hattie I. (Evans) Rumler.
Mr. Rumler was employed as an office clerk with the former Bethlehem Steel Co. for 42 years. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII with the 55th. Medical Battalion. Since 1928 he was a member of the United Church of Christ, Linfield, were he was a former member of the consistory. He had also been a former Lower Pottsgrove Twp. commissioner.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are two sons, Kenneth L. Rumler and his wife Kathleen E. Rumler, Birdsboro; David H. Rumler and his wife Diane Rumler, Sedona, AZ; one daughter Andrea J. wife of Edward DeWane, Lower Pottsgrove Twp.; two grandsons, Joshua DeWane, New York City; Brandon DeWane, West Chester. He was preceded in death by two brothers John & Frank Rumler and one sister Mary Schott.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am and will be followed by Military Honor's on Thursday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St. Pottstown. Officiating will be Son-In-Law Edward DeWane. Burial will be private. There will be a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home.
