Our funeral home was established in 1905 as Kepner and Romich Funeral Directors in the 100 block of High Street in downtown Pottstown. Raymond Schumacher, father of funeral director R. Edward Schumacher, married into the Romich family and eventually assumed operation of the funeral home. It was relocated to our current address, 359 King Street, Pottstown, in 1947. The funeral home was re-named the Schumacher-Reber Funeral Home in 1955. Again in 1978, the funeral home was re-named, this time as the Schumacher Funeral Home. Today, our funeral home is known as the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory. Although our name has changed many times throughout the years, one thing has been left unchanged - our commitment to your family and your family's peace of mind. |
