Most people have at least a few things they'd like to do before they pass, affectionately known as the "bucket list."

Why "bucket list?" Because they're the things you'll do before you kick the bucket!

Death is inevitable, so why not make up a list of your own, get off the couch, and add some fun to your life?

1. Ringing Rocks Park

Death is no laughing matter, and if you're dealing with the loss of a loved one, there are many ways of coping. One of them is to embrace life fully and do the things you want before you say goodbye to this life.

Located a few miles from Pottstown is a unique attraction called Ringing Rocks Park. There are only a few other fields of boulders like this in the world.

What's so special about them? These unusual rocks ring when you hit them with a hammer.

The park also features a rollerskating rink, baseball field, and picnic areas. Parking is easy, and the rock field is close to the parking area.

Don't forget to bring a hammer!

2. Pottsgrove Manor

John Potts was the founder of Pottstown, and a visit here wouldn't be complete without a visit to Pottsgrove Manor

Built in 1752, the manor lands encompassed almost 1,000 acres, though today it's only four acres. The restored manor is now a museum with year-round guided tours.

3. Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site

Philadelphia is less than an hour's car ride away and well worth the drive. Here you'll find the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site.

The original home that Poe lived and worked in is now a museum and free to visit. Poe was a prolific and creative author, and you can take a tour of the home of this famous author.

4. The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall

While you're in Philadelphia, be sure and see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.

The bell no longer rings due to the fissure that was widened to a crack for repair, but the message of the bell remains: "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."

The message inspired abolitionists, civil rights leaders, and suffragists alike and is still relevant today.
