Gerald Rau Fegley of North Coventry Township, Pottstown, PA died Friday at Keystone Villa at Douglassville. Jerry celebrated his 100th birthday this past November. He was the son of the late Elmer Fegley and Reba (Rau) Fegley of Pottstown and the husband of the late Anna Mae (Geyer) Fegley.
Jerry was a life long resident of Pottstown having grown up in a house on High Street and graduated from Pottstown High School. As a young man he was a machinist for Doehler Jarvis but early on started his own machine shop which employed several machinists. For a long time his shop manufactured the metal parts for Questar telescopes.
Jerry was a lifelong member of the Saint James Luthern Church. He was active in the Pottstown Optimist Club, Pottstown Historical Society, and Elks Club.
His hobbies followed his passion for photography, fishing, and gardening.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Marsha Chappell, wife of Robert Chappell, Oley, two grandchildren, Sarah J. and Matthew R. Chappell, Matthew’s wife Susan, and two great grandchildren Jackson and Catalina, California. He is preceded in death by his brother Donald.
A celebration of his life service will be held at Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown, on Saturday March 3, at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial will be private in Wentz United Church of Christ Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. James Lutheran Church 1101 E. High St., Pottstown, PA 19464.



The services will start at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory.
