Cheryl A. (Barton) Oxenford, 64, of West Pottsgrove Twp., Stowe, widow of Ronald A. "Oxie" Oxenford, died Tuesday at her home surrounded by her family.


Born in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. Barton and the late Alice Louise (Keibler) Barton. Cheryl was a homemaker and housewife and had several part time jobs. She drove bus for CMD, delivered flowers for the former Logan florist, and provided food service delivery for Pottsgrove School District. Cheryl graduated from Pottstown High School and later returned to the district as an elementary school cleaner.


Cheryl was best known for being a caregiver. She spent countless hours transporting her kids, as well as neighborhood children to nighttime activities. Her house was always full of people and she never turned anyone away. Some of her favorite pastimes include traveling with her two dogs- Tasha and Nicholas to Loretta Lynn’s Ranch and Elvis Presley’s Graceland. She was an avid collector of Loretta Lynn memorabilia and kept in personal contact with many of Loretta’s immediate family members. She and her late husband “Ox” were members of the Pottstown Classic Car Club and often showcased their restored vehicles. In the past few years, Cheryl took on a knack for crafting and making home decor for her loved ones.


Surviving is one son, Ryan A. Oxenford and his wife Britney of Birdsboro; three daughters, Desiree Oxenford Schwoyer wife of Drew, Pottstown; Jenna Oxenford Calabria wife of Nicholas, Wyomissing; Cheree A. Oxenford, Stowe; her companion Larry Kehler, Pottstown; two brothers, Harry J. Barton Jr., Pottstown; Hodge R. Barton and his wife Linda, State College; one sister, Mildred L. Bregovi, wife of Frank, Pottstown; Niece Debbie Gibson Pennuto, Hawaii; grandchildren, Hannah; Annison; Raylyn; Grace; Ryan Jr.; Colton; Aubree; Conway and Carter. She was predeceased by two brothers, William "Porky" Barton and Larry Barton; and three sisters, Shirley Ann Gibson; Darlene F. Barton; and Carrie L. Hallman.


Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown. There will be a viewing on Friday January 24, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm and on Saturday January 25, 2020 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions can be directly made to Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home, to defray funeral expenses.
