Carl L. Pence, 85, of Pottstown, husband of Mary Ann (Frech) Pence, passed away on Sunday at Manatawny Manor, Pottstown.

Born in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late Lloyd Pence and the late Florence (Neiman) Pence.

Carl worked as a route supervisor for The Bulletin, Philadelphia for twenty seven years, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown.

He liked to travel and enjoyed snow skiing as well as boating, water skiing, and hosting family and friends at his home on Lake Harmony in Pennsylvania. He especially loved spending time with and being surrounded by his family.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Scott Pence and his wife Maureen, N. Coventry Twp., David L. Pence and his wife Jane, N. Coventry Twp.; two daughters, Deborah K. Heimbach, Madisonville, LA, Karen Pence, Oakridge, TN; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Pence.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Friday January 7, 2020 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hanover & Walnut Streets, Pottstown. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. There will be a viewing from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the church.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
