Trudy (Silver) Duttenhofer

Trudy (Silver) Duttenhofer, 89, of Ambler, PA formerly of N. Evans Street, Pottstown, widow of Charles W. Duttenhofer, died Friday May 1, 2020 at Artman Lutheran Home, Ambler, PA.

Born in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles Silver and the late Gertrude (Wirth) Silver.

Trudy was a graduate of Pottstown High School and Millersville University where she earned a Bachelors degree in education. She was a Kindergarten teacher with the Pottstown School District. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown. Trudy was a member and past president of the Pottstown Garden Club, and was an avid gardener and flower arranger. She was formerly a member of the Pottstown Century Club. Her greatest joy was family gatherings, especially when these included lively games of dominoes. During the summer she enjoyed hosting family and friends at their Ocean City, NJ home. Trudy will be missed for her gentle, loving and caring ways in all her relationships. The family is especially grateful for the care and support provided by niece and nephew, Sue and Joe Dudek, their family, and most recently by the staff of the Artman Lutheran Home.

Surviving is one daughter, Linda D. wife of William Graeff, Blue Bell; one son John M. husband of Sandra Duttenhofer, West Chester; one sister Barbara McCleary, Pottstown; one brother, Elliott husband of Elizabeth Silver, Mt. Dora, FL; grandsons, John M. II, and Mark A. Duttenhofer, Daniel M. and Matthew W. Graeff. She was predeceased by one son David Charles Duttenhofer.

Funeral services will be private and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private at Mount Zion Cemetery, Pottstown.
