Shelba J. (Mathias) Detri, 81, of Stowe, PA, wife of Anthony T. Detri, passed away on Sunday June 13, 2021 in Bethany Beach at the Salisbury, MD heart center.
Born in Morysville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ralph C. Mathias and the late Lena (Grofe) Mathias.
Shelba was a graduate of Pottstown High School where she was a musician, sang with the Melody Maids, and was a drum majorette. She was employed by the former Mrs. Smith's Pie Co., later Kellogg's as an office director for 25 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, and was a judge of elections for West Pottsgrove Township.
Shelba was an avid golfer, skier, sports enthusiast and loved travel, especially to her home in Bethany Beach, DE. But most of all, Shelba loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was frequently found on the sidelines cheering them on during all of their numerous activities. She will be forever loved and missed by all.
In addition to her husband Anthony of 61 years, she is survived by two daughters, Lori wife of James Kavle, Annapolis, MD; Lisa wife of Jon Fenstermacher, San Diego, CA; She was preceded in death by her son, Mark A. Detri. She has 6 grandchildren Joseph, Stephen, Catherine, Porter, Connor, Arin, and one great granddaughter, Blake Alexandra; one brother, Gerald Mathias, Daytona Beach, FL; one sister, Gloria Christman, Stowe; daughter in law Lisa (Bassett) Detri-LaViola of FL; and was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph and Harold Mathias.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 127 E. Howard St., Stowe, PA. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Gabriel's Catholic Church of the Sorrowful Mother, Stowe, PA.
Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
