Alice (Smrek) Duda

Alice (Smrek) Duda, 88, of Pottstown, PA and formerly of Norristown, widow of Edward Duda, died Saturday September 11, 2021 at Blue Bell Place, Blue Bell, PA.

Born in Portage, Pa, she was a daughter of the late August Smrek and the late Mary (Kuska) Smrek. Alice was employed by the former Clover Department Store and Meenan Oil Co. as a customer service representative. She had also worked in the clerical department of Sacred Heart Hospital. Alice loved cooking and baking. She was known as the Queen of Walnut Roll. Her other specialties were her homemade Chicken Pot Pie and Pierogies.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Ann wife of Thomas D. Harrar, Pottstown; one son, David A. Duda and his wife Barbara, Eagleville; one sister, Dorothy Kohout, Petersburg, VA; five grandchildren, Brandon Harrar and his wife Catherine; Holly Harrar, Morgan Harrar, Danielle Duda, and David Duda. She was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.

A funeral mass at St. Francis of Assisi, Norristown will be held on Thursday for immediate and extended family. Burial will be private at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Norristown.
