Phyllis (Kranch) Hook, 90, of Manatawny St., Pottstown, widow of W. Merrill Hook, passed away on Sunday September 26, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Tamaqua, PA, she was a daughter of the late Daniel E. Kranch and the late Mary (Roberts) Kranch.

She attended Mountain View Chapel for thirty five years.

Phyllis worked at Dana Corporation for forty four years as a purchasing clerk, retiring in 1996.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she adored her family, with whom she resided with for the last 18 years. Her eyes lit up every time her great granddaughter came into the room. She was a loyal friend, she taught Sunday School at Trinity EC Church, Pottstown and the Greater Community Church, Pottstown for over twenty years. She had been a volunteer for the VNA of Pottstown in the 1990's. She loved bright colors, the older she got the brighter the color she liked. She picked out a pair of hot pink sneakers, which she wore proudly.

She is survived by a daughter, Cindy wife of Stefan J. Dey; three grandchildren, Summer L., Jeremiah J., and Danielle H. Dey all at home, and one great granddaughter, Ella L. Dey, nine nieces and nephews, twenty great nieces and nephews, thirty great great nieces and nephews, and her best friend Mary Podsobinski. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, her infant daughter, Phyllis Hook, all her siblings, a sister, Doris Houck, brothers, Robert C. and Daniel D. Kranch, nieces Janice Greist and Mary Korkie, nephews, Brian Kranch, and David Kranch.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday October 1, 2021 at Mountain View Chapel, 68 Old Douglass Dr., Douglassville. Officiating will be Reverend Chris Eshleman. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park There will be a viewing Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Mountain View Chapel, Diakon Adoption and Foster Care or Crossroads Hospice.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
