Eleanor "Ellie" S. (Swavely) LeVeille, 92, of Boyertown, widow of John W. LeVeille, Jr., passed away on Saturday November 12, 2022 at Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown.

Born in Boyertown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Donald Swavely and the late Dorothy (Gaugler) Swavely.

She was a 1948 graduate of Boyertown High School.

Ellie worked in payroll for the former ErnTex Knitting Mill, Gilbertsville.

She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown, and the Doe Club in Pottstown.

Ellie will be remembered for her personalized knitted Christmas stockings, crocheted dish cloths, bite-sized cookies, and garlic ranch “messy” pretzels. She loved to dance and was an avid bowler until she suffered a stroke 4 years ago.

She is survived by a daughter, Pam wife of Tim Walsh Schwenksville; a sister, Phyllis O'Boyle, Boyertown; five grandchildren, Ashley wife of Andrew Swanson, Josh Ettinger husband of Amanda, Katie wife of Andrew Vaccaro, Nicole wife of Zach Robinson, Sarah wife of Dane Meide; seven great grandchildren, Aubrey & Alyssa Swanson, Rudie Ettinger, Anthony Colon, Everleigh & Remington Robinson, Spencer Meide, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. She was predeceased by two sons, Barry A. LeVeille, Thomas R. LeVeille; a companion of nine years, Jimmy Tarlecki; and two brothers Norman & Ronald Swavely.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 P.M. on Sunday November 27, 2022 at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King Street, Pottstown. Burial will be private in Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the American Red Cross, 2221 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19103 or Pottstown Visiting Nurses Association, 1963 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464 or Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Drive Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034. Ellie had donated gallons of blood over the years, had volunteered at the VNA where she enjoyed working the well baby clinics, and had been compassionately cared for by the hospice team during her last weeks of life.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chestnut Knoll and the Caring Hospice team for taking good care of “Nana”.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
