Lois E. Welsh

Lois E. Welsh, 95, of Sanatoga, PA, died Thursday March 2, 2023, in Pennsburg, PA.

Born in Sanatoga, PA, she was a daughter of the late David G. and Carrie O. (DeKalb) Welsh.

After graduating Pottstown High School in 1945, she was soon married to Cyrus J. Ecker and had a family which she always wanted. She was a bookkeeper for Welsh Builders and realtor for Olock Realty. Lois loved to travel and visited destinations worldwide including Hawaii, Alaska, The Mediterranean, Germany, Mexico, The Caribbean and many others. She took yearly trips to Florida with her revered parents and was always there for her family. She was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church, the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society, Sanatoga Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and past President of The Elks Doe Club. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards with friends, playing the piano, swimming, listening to big band music and baking the best pies, carmel corn and family recipes.

Lois is survived by two daughters, Sandra E. widow of Andrew V. Olock, Pottstown; Susan wife of Stephen Lizbinski, Freeland, PA. Eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Richard A. Ecker and two sisters, Janet Kenney and Patricia Dials.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 am at Saint James Lutheran Church 1101 E. High St., Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Kay Bender Braun. Burial will be held in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday at the church.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
