William C. Schmoyer

William C. Schmoyer, 87, of Pottstown, widower of Janice E. (Weaver) Schmoyer, passed away on Tuesday November 12, 2024 at the Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late Arthur Schmoyer and the late Martha (Gunderman) Schmoyer.

Bill was a laborer for the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, Pottstown and American Crane, Douglassville. He also worked as a custodian for the Pottsgrove School District until his retirement.

He served in the Army.

Bill was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pottstown, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elk's Lodge #814, Pottstown, Pikeville Sportsmans Association, Lower Pottsgrove Sportsman Association and Birdsboro Sportsman Association.

He is survived by a son, David Schmoyer and his spouse Stephen Brady, Portsmouth, NH; a brother, James Schmoyer, Lancaster; and two grandchildren, Martha and Paul.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday November 15, 2024 at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King Street, Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Dr. Ann Baly. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. There will be a viewing Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Peter's Lutheran, 564 Glasgow Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.

The services will start at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory.


Following the service there will be a funeral procession to the cemetery.
