Shirley Mae (Royer) Mauger, 92, of Douglassville, Pennsylvania, widow of Howard G. Mauger, Jr. (2008), passed away peacefully at Keystone Villas in Douglassville, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, November 13th.

Born in New Hanover Township, Pennsylvania on April 3, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Mabel Royer. Mrs. Mauger was a dedicated homemaker and mother with numerous accomplishments thru her years, which included becoming one of the first female real estate agents for Donald Specht Realty, Fleetwood PA during the 1970's. She was highly skilled in various crafts, including sewing, knitting, crocheting and endless handcrafts. She took immense pride in her creations. Mrs. Mauger also dedicated many years teaching the art of knitting at Delta Senior Center, earning the affectionate nickname "Knitty" during the ten years she resided in Delta, Pennsylvania.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Mauger will always remember she was a strong woman who lived life on her own terms. She will be deeply missed, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts and lives of her many friends and all of her family.

Mrs. Mauger is survived by her three children: Bradley G. Mauger of New Mexico; Robert H. Mauger and his wife Janice (Lumia) Mauger of St Peters, PA; LeeAnn (Mauger) Schmidt and her husband Keith T. Schmidt, Joppa, MD.

She is also survived by one sister, Fern L. (Royer) Koppel and her husband Richard Koppel, of Boyertown, PA; one niece, Taina (Koppel) Bodolus and her husband Micheal Bodolus of Boyertown, PA. She was predeceased by one nephew Todd Koppel (2013).

Mrs. Mauger was a beloved Grandmother to five Grandchildren: Grant L. Eddinger of Bel Air, MD; Sara (Eddinger) O'Brien of Ellicott City, MD; Lisa M. Mauger of California; Jennifer (Mauger) Tellis and her husband Brett Tellis of Colorado; and David Mauger of Colorado.

Additionally, she is survived by her bonus grandchildren: Keith Schmidt, Jr and his wife Katie Schmidt of Arnold, MD; Sarah (Schmidt) Jacobs and her husband Douglas of Delta, PA; and Jesse Dugan and his wife Alyssa Dugan of Allentown, PA.

Mrs. Mauger was also blessed to survive to see and love her five Great-Grand Children: Emma O'Brien, Olivia Schmidt, Rocklyn Tellis, Roland Tellis and Leo Dugan.

A graveside service will be held 11:30 A.M. on Monday November 18, 2024 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 225 E. Schuylkill Rd., Pottstown. Officiating will be Chaplain Scott Landes. There will be a viewing Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home, 359 King Street, Pottstown.

The entire family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate friends and staff at Keystone Villas Independent Living and Personal Care facilities in Douglassville, PA. They would also like to thank the dedicated team from Suncrest Hospice, Plymouth Meeting, PA for their loving care and support thru her passing.

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.

The services will start at Mt. Zion Cemetery
